William R. Smith

William “Bill” R. Smith, 68, of Delphos died at 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

He was born August 26, 1956 in Van Wert, Ohio and adopted by the late Lee and Alverta (Geckle) Smith. On December 31, 1995, he married Sheena A. Smith who preceded him in death.

Surviving are five children: Valerie (Rex) Hazelton, Kristen (Jason) McCartney, Cassandra Smith, William Rosten (Brianna) Smith, and Kyleigh Smith; Two brothers: Dennis “Wibby” Smith and David Smith; nine grandchildren: Jasmin, Trevor (Deborah), Gavin, Kyla, Jayden, Jaxson, Oakley, Nolan and Cooper.

Bill graduated from Kalida High School in 1974. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. He held various positions in the industrial industry that provided travel by ship around the world. In his spare time he loved to go hunting, fishing, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Minnesota Vikings.

A private family service to be held.
