William J Rusch

April 26, 1942 — February 24, 2025

William John Rusch, 82, of Logan, passed away peacefully at his home on February, 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

Born in Berea, Ohio, on April, 26, 1942, he was the son of the late John and Leona 'Loga' Rusch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Wanda and Michelle.

Bill was a graduate of Strongsville High School. He enjoyed showing off his graceful roller skating skills while working as a skate guard at Berea Rollarena during high school. He volunteered as a Fire Fighter in Strongsville for 15 years while beginning his career with the gas company. At the age of 18, he began working at Columbia Gas Transmission where he pursued his career for 37 years. After his retirement, he continued his pipeline career with private inspection companies for an additional 20 years.

Bill was a strong, hardworking, active man, who instilled strength, manners and dedication into his children. He enjoyed hunting, Civil War History and a good German beer and cream puff. His children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him a great amount of love and memories.

He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet, of 49 years; a brother, Chuck (Pat) Rusch; children: Rick (Joanne) Burns, Rebekka (Ray) Evans, John (Jacki) Rusch, Lynn (Scott) Seamen and Connie (Mic) Hazlett. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Josh (Bill) Burns, Rachael (Heath) Link, Gabrielle (Skylar) Canter, Layne Ashton, James Ashton, Addison Rusch, Evan Rusch, Bryan Seamen, Stephanie Chavez, William Seamen, Diana Walsh and Chelsea Cozart and many Great-Grandchildren: Baylee, Madison, Owen and baby Canter, Bronson, Hunter, Maddy, Lennox, Scarlett, Joey, Corey and Conner.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Rockbridge United Methodist Church

March, 8th, 2025, from 12-3.
A brief service will begin at noon and a reception in his honor will follow downstairs. The family will have a private burial at Chesterhill.
