Vincent was born on February 21, 1941, in New York, N.Y. He was the middle child born to the late Mary Louise Pettiford Hall and Richard Henry Hall Sr. Vincent was baptized at St. Phillips Episcopal Church and he had his holy confirmation there at the age of 12. He served as an acolyte at the church. Vincent was a spiritual man, and he attended church wherever he lived. Vincent was raised in Manhattan and attended the prestigious Bronx High School of Science. The family relocated to Brooklyn during his third year, requiring that he take three trains each way to reach the campus. Vincent ran track and cross country at Bronx Science and also was a member of the swim team. After graduation, he attended Hunter College, majoring in engineering and physics. He ran track and cross country there too. Vincent held many jobs, starting with serving as a civil engineer for the State of New York. Later in life, he worked for the State of New York, evaluating applicants for disability benefits. Vincent was an artist and an inventor. He produced a unique form of art utilizing a typewriter, creating images with a special mathematical formula. He received recognition from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., which purchased two of his pieces. The Smithsonian also commissioned him to work with its National Museum of African American History and Culture, which made him proud. Vincent and his art were featured on Spectrum News NY1 television. His art also was featured in the A Date with Destiny series on Blog Talk Radio in Maryland. In 2018, he drove cross-country for Black History Month to participate in the annual Vision and Sound: An African American Experience program in Arizona where he was a featured artist. Vincent was married three times and the unions produced his three daughters, Madia Hall, Sarita Hall Squires and Delaine Louise Hall. He felt blessed to have his six grandsons in his life. Vincent loved sports. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He enjoyed going to sporting games to see his nephew, Carlton and grandson, Sean Burnell. play football, grandniece Royale play soccer and grandson Sean Jordan play basketball. He really enjoyed the day his youngest grandson Cameron rode a pony as he walked by his side. Vincent was an extrovert and a handyman. He also loved cars and could fix them. He was friendly, loved the outdoors and lived his life the way he wanted. Despite his advancing age, he enjoyed spending time with his grandnephew, Jonathan Lamar. Vincent was predeceased by his niece, Susan Darlene Hall. He leaves to mourn daughters Madia Hall, Sarita Squires and Delaine Hall, grandsons Jah’leek Leeshawn Pullman, Sean Tyron Jordan, Demani Tamel Jordan, Cameron Ayden Squires, Sean Shate Burnell and Vidal Ernesto Innis, sister Helene Delores Hall Dorsey, brother Richard Henry Hall Jr., aunt Shirley T Pettiford, nieces, Linda Agudosi (Ike), Cherise Nicole Dorsey, Ashley Brooks, Adrienne Agudosi and Royale Lamar and Jaliyah Lamar, nephews David Dorsey Sr., Richard Hall III, Jonathan Lamar, David Michael Dorsey Jr., Daniel Minor Hall, and Jaylen Ball and a host of cousins and friends.
