Thomas H Klingensmith

Thomas H. Klingensmith, 89, of Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023. Tom was born on July 31, 1934, in Canton, Ohio and was the son of the late Henry M. Klingensmith and Grace E. Klingensmith. Tom was preceded in death by wife, Caroline L. Klingensmith, sister, Deborah K. Hoge, and parents, Henry M. Klingensmith and Grace E. Klingensmith.

Tom had a successful career for 52 years as an architect in Canton, Ohio. Tom was a former board member of the Stark County Humane Society and had been the proud owner of 3 cairn terrier dogs over the span of 45 years. Tom was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed gathering with family every summer at Chautauqua, New York.

Tom was a 1952 graduate of Principia High School in St. Louis, MO. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard of Ohio, and later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Kent State University in 1961.

Tom is survived by his son, Scott T. Klingensmith, daughter-in-law, Cynthia A. Klingensmith, and two grandchildren, Anna E. Klingensmith and Atalie G. Klingensmith, all of whom reside in Sunbury, Ohio, and sister Nancy K. Coon, of Tucson, Arizona.
