Terry Newman

Terry Blanch Newman, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on January 25, 1960, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she lived her life with a kind, loving spirit and a contagious enthusiasm that will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Terry was the cherished daughter of Francis Bowling and the late Florine Bowling. A devoted mother, she is survived by her sons, Ronnie and Donnie Hysell (Jessica Sheets), as well as her precious grandchildren Ronnie III and Cali. She is also survived by her siblings, Cindy Bowling, Mark (Teri) Bowling, Connie (Mike) Barnette, Wally (Dawn) Bowling, and Loretta (Scott) Burns as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also shared a special bond with her former spouse, John Newman.

Known for her vibrant personality and generous spirit, Terry was previously employed by Rees Flowers, a position she loved for the joy it brought to people's lives. Terry's work at Rees Flowers allowed her to spread happiness with every delivery, a task she took on with great pride and joy.

An avid sports enthusiast, Terry was a dedicated fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Nascar's Kevin Harvick and her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Her love for these teams was only surpassed by her love for her family and her zest for life. She enjoyed camping, going to concerts, trips to the casino and she cherished the moments spent playing bingo with her dad and sister. However, the highlight of Terry's life was undoubtedly the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, Ronnie and Cali. Their laughter, stories, and shared activities were the source of her greatest joy as well as her time spent with her loyal fur baby Ace.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Terry Newman embodied this quote, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a beautiful testament to love and resilience, and her memory will be cherished forever by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Terry's family will be holding a celebration of life in her honor on August 26th, 2023.
