Sonda Lee Powers

Powers, Sonda Lee, age 81 of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton after a courageous battle with cancer. Sonda is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Teresa Balonier. Sonda is survived by her husband Robert Bruce Powers, children Steven Powers, Christine (Daniel) Bennett, Melinda Esmond, David (Melanie) Powers and grandchildren Andrew (Allie), Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Mark, Chloe, Jackson, brothers Gary (Linda) Balonier, Richard (Debbie) Balonier, sister-in-law, Elaine (Rick) Hoke. Numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Sonda was retired from Miami Valley Hospital's Department of Medical Imaging, where she was highly respected by her colleagues and made many lasting friendships. Her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others was evident in her volunteer work and the countless hours she dedicated to causes close to her heart.

Sonda's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bruce of 62 years. Together they raised four wonderful children and her love for her family extended to her grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.

Throughout her life, Sonda was known for her kindness and generosity. She had a natural ability to make others feel at ease and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her warm and welcoming spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Sonda's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A private Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family.
