Shirley Darlene King

Shirley Darlene King (née Clark) 
of Grove City passed away on February 15, 2023 at Doctors West Hospital.

Shirley was born on December 9, 1950 in Vanceburg, Kentucky, moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1960, and graduated from West High School in 1968. After many years of hard work, she achieved her goal of obtaining her LPN license in 2006. Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, and family member, who was known for her warm sense of humor. She was an inspiration to many, showing her determination when she went back to school in her 50's and successfully earned her nursing degree.

Shirley is survived by her children Keith King (wife Caroline), Larry King Jr, Denise King, and Steven Craig King; grandchildren Kennedy King (Braxton Bowden), Claudia King, Danielle (King) Hollar (husband Ronnie), Christopher King, Joseph King, Kayla King, Victoria King, Dominic Coleman, Baylie King, and Steven King Jr; great grandchildren Fletcher Bowden, Bronsen Bowden, Violet King, and Journnei Wiley; brother Peter Clark (wife Marsha); sister in law Barbara Clark; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, James Clark; her mother, Shirley Clark; her brothers, Jim Clark, Roger Clark, Jesse "Cork" Clark, and Jerry Clark (wife Bev); and her sister, Gloria Hitt (husband Ron). 
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating the life of Shirley at a Memorial Service to be held at The Church Of Christ (1130 Fishinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221) on Saturday, March 4, 2023 beginning at 1 PM. 
In lieu of flowers, expressions of condolences or other family wishes can be made.
