Shirley Ann Aleshire

Shirley Ann Aleshire, 70 of Columbus passed away Sunday, January 9th, 2022 at Riverside Hospital. She was born June 1st, 1951 in Delaware to the late John and Anna Haas (Nafus). Shirley owned and operated PattyO’s Deli in Delaware, Ohio that was well known for homemade chicken salad, good food and catering. She worked as a Kitchen Manager afterwards in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in Iowa City Schools. Shirley came home to Ohio to retire and be with family in 2013. During her retirement, Shirley was a volunteer with Peace for Paws of Ohio and would donate her time looking through applications for adoption. She was awarded volunteer of the year with the rescue group in 2019. Shirley had a passion for sewing and also had a business, Paw Fashions by Shirley, sewing dog clothes and accessories. She enjoyed selling the items on etsy and setting up booths. Anyone that knew Shirley, could tell you she was one of the most selfless people they knew and always had a smile. Shirley enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, family time, and watching OSU play football. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Chad (Kim) Aleshire of Prospect, and Tammy Aleshire of Columbus; One grandchild, Erin Aleshire; two special nieces Lisa Thomas and Stacie Fuller and their family. Aleshire Family also included step children: Cindy, Craig, and Christy. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her twin grandchildren William & Zachary; sister Barbara Nickles; nephew Jason Bell and long time partner Daniel Cramer. Shirley requested her family and friends to celebrate her memory. Family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations can be made in her name through Peace for Paws of Ohio to celebrate her love for animals.
