Ruth Miriam "Ruthie" Heminger (née Carmer) of Belle Center passed away peacefully in her home on February 16, 2023.
Ruthie was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on June 17, 1943. She and her family moved to Belle Center where she attended high school, and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Ruthie was known for her loving nature and her unique sense of humor that always brought joy to those around her. Her love for the Lord inspired her many creative endeavors, such as playing the piano, appreciating art and nature, and making the world a more beautiful place by her presence.
Ruthie is survived by her husband Phil Heminger; son Doug Heminger and his wife Heather; daughter Donna Carmer and her husband Fred; daughter Ashlee Phillips and her husband Darren; son-in-law Cliff Cannon; sister Annette Ammons and her husband Glenn. She was the best “Mom-mom” to her grandchildren Jordyn Carmer Kalashika (Adi), Ryan Cannon, Carissa Heminger, Katelyn Cannon, Mei Carmer, Chloe Heminger Howard (Roger), David Cannon, Rebecca Cannon, Lily Carmer, Cianna Heminger, Hannah Phillips, Haylee Phillips, Avery Carmer, Carter Phillips, and “Aunt Ruthie” to her beloved niece, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Rutie was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Cannon; her son Stephen Heminger; and her parents Lawrence and Ruth Carmer.
The family of Ruthie is honoring her life with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 25th at 11:11 am at Belle Center United Methodist Church. The family invites those who knew and loved Ruthie to join them in celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care (uhcinc.org).
