Brethren, today we gather in solemn remembrance and in celebration of the life of Sister Judith Ann Hill-Porter, known affectionately to all of us as Rudy. Born on the seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and sixty-six, in the bustling city of Columbus, Ohio, Rudy was a beacon of light that shined bright until her heavenly departure on the twenty-third of June, two thousand and twenty-four.
Rudy was a cherished daughter to Connie and Eugene, a devoted wife to her loving husband James, a caring sister to Greg, a beloved niece to Aunt Patricia, and a dear cousin to Justin. Her presence was a gift, her laughter a melody, and her love a blessing to each and every one she encountered. Rudy's kindred spirit, Blackish, her beloved fur baby, was her constant companion and a source of immeasurable joy.
Her voice, a vessel of the divine, uplifted many a soul as she sang Gospel in the Lord's house. Rudy's passion for sharing God's love knew no bounds, and her heart of a servant was evident in all her deeds. She walked in faith, led by grace, and loved without measure.
As we bid farewell to our dear Sister Rudy, let us hold fast to the memories, the love, and the lessons she bestowed upon us. Her spirit now resides with her Creator, singing in the eternal choir of angels. Rest in peace, sweet Rudy, until we meet again at Jesus' feet. Amen.
