Ron

Ronald Lee "Ron" Vopicka, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on February 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his family and two dogs, Teddy and Tiny.

Ronald was born on September 30, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Dillionvale High School, where he played the saxophone in the jazz band. After his retirement from the railroad, he spent more than 25 years working on private estates in the Cleveland area. Ronald was married to Barbara Vopicka (Hall) for over 61 years and was deeply in love with her. He was a devoted father to his three children: Christine, Sue-Ann and Steven. Ron enjoyed model car building, gardening, and bird watching in the back yard. He cherished his beloved dogs. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren and watching them play soccer, basketball, and tennis.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Grace Vopicka (Hall); daughter, Christine Rivett (Gary); daughter, Sue-Ann Wieging; son, Steven Vopicka (Stacey); grandchildren, Cole Wieging, Mac Wieging, Lily Wieging, Jeremy Rivett and Tiffany Rivett. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Mellion (Walter); his father, Gerald Vopicka; his sister, Geraldine DiCenzo (Bob); his uncle, John Cesario; and his aunt, Mary Cesario.

In order to honor Ron's wishes there will be no services.
