Rodney Gail Gregory

July 12, 1956 — March 20, 2022

Rodney Gail Gregory, 65, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on March 20, 2022 in the early morning hours at Pickering House in Lancaster. Robin Treichler, niece, and Jeffrey Pierce, nephew, were at his side playing his favorite music. An avid music lover and concert attendee, Rod was listening to "Liberation" by Chicago when he left this world. Rod was born July 12, 1956 to Albert and Jayne (Bullock) Gregory of Baltimore, Ohio. He graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1974. Rod graduated from Morris Harvey College in 1978 (now the University of Charleston) where he excelled in his studies and played baseball. Rod was a lifelong, super fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Rod was a dedicated educator who taught at Bloom Carroll, Fairfield Union, and Paint Valley High Schools. Rod coached baseball at Paint Valley, and his proudest moment came in 1995 when he coached the Paint Valley Bearcats baseball team to the Division III State Championship. Rod made lifelong friendships with members of his baseball teams, and he was later inducted into the Paint Valley HS Hall of Fame. Rod was preceded in death by parents Albert and Jayne Gregory, sisters Carolyn Richards and Elaine Quinn, and brother Gary Gregory. Rod is survived by his sister Dawn Jackson (David), brother-in-law Patrick Quinn, sister-in-law Sherry Gregory, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
