Robert “Bob” Thompson was born on July 19,1927 and passed away on December 16, 2019 at 8:09 am at Grant Medical Center. Bob was born in Robbins, North Carolina, the son of the late Lundie P. Thompson and Charity McLaughlin Thompson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Mappes, and his two sons, Richard A. Thompson and Robert L. Thompson, Jr. Bob will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Anita L.Thompson who he met in 1970 and were married two years later. He is also survived by his daughter, Robyn L. Alexander; his granddaughters, Lanai L. Stevenson, and Lisa Thompson; grandsons, Shrun Thompson, and Maurice Thompson; sister, Trudy Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bob grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1952. He was employed as an Engineering Draftsman at Benatec & Associates from 1964 to 1990, when he retired after 26 years. Bob along with his wife was baptized in Crownsville, Maryland in 1973. He has faithfully served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 46 years and served as an Elder. Bob was always concerned about his brothers and sisters and even while he was sick, he spent his time witnessing to others. Memorial services for Bob will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses,1555 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209. Discourse by Craig Shearer.
