Robert K. “Bob” Snell, 82, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on September 5, 2020. He was born Sept. 13, 1937 in Sylvania, OH and was the son of the late John and Helen (Jones) Snell. Bob always credited the U.S. Army for teaching him everything he needed to know to become an exceptional electrician and a good citizen. He was a skilled lineman for IBEW Local 245 and IBEW Local 8 while working at the BP refinery in Toledo from which he retired in 1998. He was also a proud member of the Freemasons and earned the rank of 32nd Degree. Bob was truly a one-of-a-kind man with a heart of gold and the mouth of a truck driver. He never knew a stranger. If you met Bob, you never forgot him. If you truly knew him, you most certainly loved him. He was a man of many passions – golf, fishing, camping, cooking, riding motorcycles and traveling were some of his favorite hobbies. He also loved all forms of motor racing, especially the annual Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway. But there was nothing he loved more than his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Doris (Atfield); his daughter Faelyn (Tony) Martinez of AZ and his son Leonard (Kim) Snell of Lithopolis, OH; grandchildren Zachary Fellhauer, Aaron Fellhauer, Dana Fellhauer, Carris Clay (Landon Norwood), Alen (Alyssa) Snell, Robert Snell, Keilyn Snell, Reagan Snell and Adam Snell; great-grandchildren Kaydance Snell and Madelyn Snell. He is also survived by his siblings Dorothy (Ed) Wakeland, Bill (Gloria) Snell, and Donna (Ed) Heer. A celebration of life will be planned in the coming months. Words cannot express how much Bob will be missed – His outrageous stories, silly limericks, cooking recipes, and infectious laugh will echo in our minds and hearts forever.
