Richard Monroe Skaggs

Of Marysville, OH passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023 at OSU, Columbus, OH.

He was born January 15, 1950, Portsmouth, OH to George Frederick and Anna Ruth (Triplett) Skaggs. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, William Frederick, AZ and a sister Georgeanna Carol Ward, OH. He is survived by a sister, Kathy (Jim) Altizer, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Artistic in nature and quiet in spirit, he had been a few things in life. His enjoyable works were being a hairdresser and then discovering a love for cooking and went to culinary school. Thankful for meeting his Lord and Savior, Richard spent years cooking for the less fortunate in Phoenix, AZ. “Giving back,” is what he’d say.

In these later years he enjoyed a simple life. Living in a senior community he grew flowers and vegetables to share with neighbors and feeding the birds.

Richard will be missed by those that knew him well.
