Richard Joseph Szulewski

Richard Joseph Szulewski, 58, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away in hospice on April 20, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Richard was born on October 28, 1964 in Columbus and graduated from Worthington High School in 1983. He then attended The Ohio State University from 1983-1987, where he studied Pre-Med and received his Bachelor of Arts in Languages & Political Science, earning a spot on the Dean's List throughout college.

With a strong passion for people and making a difference in the world, Richard dedicated 30 years of his life to business development and defense, as well as several years in the United States Air Force, of which he was incredibly passionate.

Richard was known for his fun sense of humor and free-spirited nature. He was an incredibly kind-hearted individual, and was always seen cheering the loudest at every one of his kids' sporting events. Richard enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, collecting comic books and classic records, listening to music with his daughter, Isabelle, traveling around the world, golfing, skiing, watching OSU & Cleveland Browns football with his son, Ben, taking road trips to Lake Erie, and going to the movies for every new Marvel movie with his kids. He was always eager to learn new things.

Richard is survived by his daughter Isabelle Szulewski; son Benjamin Szulewski; three sisters; and father Joseph Szulewski.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Szulewski.

Richard was incredibly loved and will be missed by many.
