Prudence Heath Kirkegaard

Prudence (Prudie) Heath Kirkegaard of Lowell, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born on October 12, 1938 in Bellevue, OH, the daughter of William Kern and Doris Kern.  A devoted nurse, she was the Director of Nursing at several hospitals and nursing homes in Missouri, Montana and New Mexico. Later in life, she enjoyed painting and doing craft shows with her husband. Prudie is survived by two sisters, Sandra Beamer and Jaret Jones both of Bellevue, OH, three sons and one daughter, Jeff Steinel of Lowell, OH, Mike (Lynne) Steinel of Louisville, KY, Scott (Mary Beth) Steinel of Lowell, OH and Juli Schwartz of Toledo, OH, four grandchildren Aaron Schwartz of Charlotte, NC, Kathleen (Nathan) Michalak of Simpsonville, KY, Michael Steinel of Columbus, OH and Amanda Schwartz of Toledo, OH, and great grandchildren Benedict, Damian, and Evelyn Michalak. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin, and a granddaughter Candice Wasson. There will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, at 90 Mt. Tom Road, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
