Penny Smith

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Penny Smith - 78 on 04/21/2025. Penny is survived by her brother Bobby, sons Patrick North, Daniel Smith Jr., and Aaron Smith; daughters Amanda Saxton, Masha Meyta, and Kathryn Sanders-Smith; and grandchildren Devin North, Madison Saxton, Hunter North, Austin Smith, and Maxim Smith.

Born on 08/06/1946 in Columbus, Ohio, Penny brought light and love into the lives of everyone who knew her. She lived a beautiful life as a wife, mother, friend, bingo champion, and chef extraordinaire. Penny shined in the kitchen, sprinkling love onto everything from whoopie pies to 18 lb apple pies that would transform into crumbs on empty plates. The kitchen wasn’t Penny’s only canvas. From crafts to soaps, candles, and toy collections, Penny collected, crafted, painted, and forged new from old. The products and toys she sold and donated put smiles on thousands of strangers. While our hearts ache from our loss, it is serene knowing that Penny is with her late husband, Bud, and daughter, Lori Wheeler.
