Paul Harvey Stevens

Paul Harvey Stevens, age 81, of Circleville, Ohio went to heaven on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, after battling Parkinson’s Disease for 15 years. He was born October 11, 1940, in McArthur, Ohio and was the son of the late George and Freeda Stevens. Paul was also preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva (Norman) Lincoln, Elda (James) Shipley, Carole Tanner and Judy Stevens, nephews Paul Tanner and Jeffrey Shipley. He was a devoted and beloved father survived by his three children Peter (Megan) Stevens, Stacy (Richard) Ritter, and Stefanie (Christopher) Lauvray, grandchildren Lucile, Lindsay, Anna, Wyatt, Alexander, Ethan, Huston, and Abigail, fiancé Jane Eberhart, ex-wife Diana Stevens, brother-in-law Dennis Tanner, many special nieces and nephews and dog Charlie. He graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio. Paul received a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University in 1967. He served for 2 years in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant, followed be an additional 4 years in the Army Reserve. He taught science and physical education at St. Paul Catholic School in Westerville, Ohio and left teaching to become a small business owner as a commercial and residential painter. Over the years he grew his business to include landscaping, real estate, dining and retail. Paul was an active member of New Life United Methodist Church. He was a car enthusiast and for several years, served as the Secretary for the Mid-Ohio Austin Healey Car Club, he also belonged to the Triumph and Buick Car Clubs, the Fraternal Order of Police Associates and participated in annual community parades as a Keystone Cop, he played on several baseball and basketball leagues and was a coach for youth sports. Most of all he adored his children and grandchildren. He loved to attend all their sporting events, school concerts, award banquets and visit them where they worked. It was common to find him on the sidelines cheering on his children. He was a social butterfly who never met a stranger, a loyal Buckeye fan, enjoyed driving with the top down, road trips, telling corny jokes, Euchre, Sudoku, Crosswords and had a weakness for Snickers candy bars. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. His strong fighting spirit and positive outlook on life is the legacy he leaves behind to his children and grandchildren to impact others the way he impacted each of them.
