Patricia Eileen Meier

Patricia Eileen Meier of Columbus, Ohio, died at home on Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was born Nov 23, 1952 in Santa Monica, CA, daughter of John Wayland and Mary Lois (Hinkle) Cornell, and sister to Steven Clark Cornell, all of whom preceded her in death. She honeymooned with her husband for four years in the Philippines, working with foster children, one of whom (Eris Eileen) she adopted. Upon returning to Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital became her second home with a diagnosis of cancer with which she wrestled for 41 years, and to which she eventually succumbed. She saw her greatest achievement in the birth of her son, her greatest joy in the raising of her family, her greatest love in her devotion to her husband, her greatest heritage in the individuals who became her friends, her greatest treasures in her cousins and uncles and aunts, her greatest skill in designing and writing notes and letters of encouragement, her greatest use of time in prayer, and her greatest hope in her savior Jesus. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sam, her children (Eris and Sam), and her three grandsons (Skylar, Felix, and Leo). A memorial service will be held for Eileen at Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 5099 Postlewaite Rd, Columbus, OH, on Friday, April 26 at 6:30 PM, serving light refreshments.
