Nellie Luthera (McCrindle) Robbins, lately of Sunbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully, with Family
members at her side, on December 27, 2022. Nellie was born in Pontiac, Michigan on July 24, 1923 to

Robert. Each of Nellie's siblings, and their parents, preceded her in passing.
Nellie was married to Calvin A. Robbins, originally of Elkhart, Indiana in February of 1942. After
raising their Family together in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Calvin passed away in June of 1981. They met
on a blind date while both were working at the telephone company; he continued working there until
his passing, while Nellie, after her Children were grown, returned to work as a secretary and
administrative assistant in the Ann Arbor School System until her retirement
Nellie leaves behind three living children and their Spouses: Cynthia and Kenneth Elder of Gainesville,
FL; Janice and Gordon Whitcher of Kingsville, Ontario, and William Robbins and Jane Kranzler of
Waxhaw, NC. Preceding Nellie in passing was her youngest child, son Michael Robbins, who passed in
1997. Nellie is also survived by four Grandchildren and their Spouses: Tobias and Kristin Giraud;
Alissa (Whitcher) and Mike Berkey, Rebecca (Whitcher) and Brad Pollitt, and Stephanie (Whitcher)
and Charles Ruston, and eight Great-Grandchildren: Caleb, Jacob and Alexis Giraud; Addison, William
and Aidan Pollitt, and Calvin and Evan Ruston. Nellie was preceded in passing by a ninth Great-
Grandchild, Caitlyn Pollitt.
Nellie was a vivacious and affectionate woman who loved dancing, going places and doing things,
being with Friends and, most of all, her Family. In lieu of a memorial service at this time, Nellie's
Family contemplate a gathering to celebrate her life sometime later in the new year, at a location yet to
be chosen. Those Family and Friends wishing to commemorate Nellie's life and memory are asked to
consider a contribution to Capital City Hospice of Columbus, Ohio, or a hospice organization of their
choice, in her name.
Mom, we love you and miss you, now and always.
Cindy, Jan and Bill
