It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Arnette McAllister, who left us on July 27, 2024 after a beautifully lived life.
Mary was born on March 11, 1952 to Pauline Holt and Charles McAllister in Mansfield, Ohio. Mary moved to California shortly after beginning her own family and raised her children there, but returned to Ohio in 1998.
Full of love and resilience she touched the lives of all who knew her. None more so than her immediate family though. Mary lived for her children, giving them a childhood she wished she'd had. She then went on to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren; thus, as the matriarch of her family, ensuring that all were well.
With a healing spirit and a soothing voice; she comforted broken souls. She cared about people to a fault; always putting the needs of others above her own.
The void her absence creates in the lives of those who love her is too deep, too wide, too raw and too painful to ever be filled.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Tishena Bowen (Antonio), Tamala Harrison (Shaun), Crystal McAllister Wells (Ken), and sons Thomas Lampley (Alverta), Anthony Lampley, her grandchildren: Keilon Elliott, Derrick Paradise, Tikari McAllister, Selvon Galloway, Tiaszah Harrison, McKinlee Welch, Darius Webb, Remeigh Harrison, C'ne Webb, D'Mari Webb, Anthony Lampley, Tyler Lampley, Talya Lampley and great-grandchildren: Isla Paradise, Navi Paradise, Giurnee Gilmore, Akoni Paradise, Giurmanee Gilmore and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary is also survived by her sisters Minnie King, Aurelie Smith, Cathella Tye (Kenny), Ismar Smith, Arcine Poole (Arthur Duane), Mada Smith, Savannah Mosely and brothers Archie Smith (Jane), Jeff Smith, Henry Smith, Tawn Smith, Artius Smith (Corrine), and Jahime Smith.
She was preceded in death by her life partner James (Bo) Bolden Sr., parents, brother Godfrey (Butch) King, and sister Ann King.
Though she may have bid farewell, her spirit embarks on a new adventure alongside her partner Bo, traversing the boundless realms beyond.
May Mary find eternal peace in the arms of the divine; her legacy forever engraved in those who knew and loved her.
