Mark Lawrence Murray

Mark Lawrence Murray, 66, passed away on August 29, 2021, at Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio, after a short battle with cancer. Mark was born on January 27, 1955, in Houston, Texas, and was the son of Sara Murray (Hannah) and the late Richard Joseph Murray. He was a 1973 graduate of Rosecrans High School and lived in Zanesville most of his life. Mark worked and volunteered for Good Samaritan Hospital, he also worked at Disney World, as a bartender, and as a computer sales representative. Mark’s passions in life were music and playing guitar. He recently collaborated with his brother, Nicholas, on a song called “Not Easily Forgotten” for the alternative/trance band “Wahweap Hoodoos.” He will be remembered as a loving and caring son, brother, and uncle, and as a musician, a philosopher, and as a creative, non-conformist, free-spirit. He was a gentle soul with a big heart who will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Joseph Murray, sister Mary Rebecca Ziegler (Murray), and a loving cat named Miles Davis. He is survived by his mother Sara Murray, brothers Nicholas Murray (wife Beth Murray (Reeves)) and Christopher Murray, sister Rachel Shelton (Murray), nephews Reece Shelton, Cameron Murray, Keaton Murray, Peter Calvelo, Richard James (R.J.) Murray (wife Cassie Murray (Hummel)), great niece Iris Murray, and his cat companion Zoey. At Mark’s request, there will be no services.
