Mark Hulse, 65, of Mount Gilead, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 21st, 2024 while at home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer.
Mark was a faithful husband and father. He loved nothing more than taking long walks with his wife Tami, spending time with family, and studying the Word of God. Though he was known for his quiet and gentle demeanor, Mark had a remarkable way of being at the center of the action wherever he went. At any gathering, he could be found quietly observing, sharing wisdom, or making a joke with his bone-dry humor.
Mark was a devoted and faithful husband, who would regularly assist Tami in her many-a-home improvement projects. He was an involved, hands-on parent who could be found helping with homework, sports and hobbies, and was always encouraging his children to learn and develop their individual talents. He was equally passionate about his granddaughter, Madaline, and was her best play-classroom student, whom she affectionately named Dale.
Early on, Mark and Tami felt called to serve through Youth with a Mission (YWAM), working as missionaries in Holland, Belgium, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. After returning from their work in missions to raise their family, Mark took over the family dairy farm. He later worked as a rural mail carrier for the Fredericktown USPS until his retirement in April 2024.
He attended Abundant Life Fellowship, serving first as an elder and treasurer. He later served as pastor at Abundant Life Fellowship, where he was dearly loved for over 20 years.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tami, and their three children: Kristin Hulse (Rachel Heine), Kara Bias (Alex), and Andrew Hulse (Lara Wilkinson). He is also survived by his granddaughter, Madaline Swank, and his five siblings: Barbara Brooke (Robert), Philip Hulse (Janet), Michael Hulse (Betty), Arlene Byler (William), and Mary Wolff (Jerry). He is also remembered by his mother- and father-in-law, Madalaine and Allen McNew, his brother-in-law, Scott Northrup (Terra), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoy and Mildred Hulse.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Fellowship in Mount Gilead, Ohio.
In lieu of sending flowers, donations may be given to Heartbeat of Morrow County, an organization that was near and dear to Mark’s heart.
