Marilyn Pritt, age 69, of Dresden, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2024. Born on September 22, 1955, to the late Donald and Janice Smith of McConnelsville, Ohio, Marilyn lived a life full of love, adventure, and a deep connection to her family.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Crystal Pritt, Joseph (Amber) Pritt, and Michael Pritt. Her spirit lives on through her grandchildren, Jordan, Alexius, Zoe, Ireland, Taylor, and Myles, who brought her immense joy and were a constant source of pride for her.
She was also a cherished sister to Lisa (Jeff) Duncan, and Yvonne (Samantha) Smith with whom she shared many treasured memories. Marilyn’s extended family, including many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will forever carry her in their hearts.
Marilyn graduated from Morgan High School, class of 1974. A passionate lover of life, Marilyn had a unique interest in both the serene and the mysterious. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, taking in the beauty of nature, and going on long drives to explore new places. Marilyn was also an avid ghost hunter, delighting in the thrill of uncovering the unknown. These hobbies reflected her adventurous spirit and her enthusiasm for exploring both the world around her and the mysteries of life.
A celebration of life will be held at the VFW Post 1058, 1318 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, on January 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., to honor her life and the legacy she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation in Marilyn’s memory.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Shrivers Hospice and their loving staff for helping provide exceptional care for Marilyn.
