Margaret "Peggy" Jones

Margaret Jones, age 90, born October 1, 1932, passed away February 4, 2023. peacefully with the loving support of her family by her side. She was born in Hibbing, MN to Edith & William Driscoll. Peggy moved to Denver after attending college in Hibbing and became employed in banking and women's fashion as a model. She met Charlie Jones, a handsome and charming service member on the dance floor and they married in 1955. They had 3 children together and were married for 58 years until his death in 2013. After moving to Bay Village in 1969, Peggy returned to the workforce as a library media aide at Bay Middle School, where she retired after 25 years with a perfect attendance award, having never missed a day of work! She loved helping the students and was always willing to provide lunch money or a listening ear to those in need. For Peggy, retirement allowed her more time to do what she loved most spreading kindness and helping others. She was an active community member and volunteered for many organizations - where service to others became the main focus of her life. She was a bible study teacher at St. Malachi's Catholic Church in Cleveland's inner city; she taught summer bible school, sang in the choir, and was a trained Stephen's Minister for Bay Presbyterian Church. She worked on the Welcome Wagon committee in Bay and was an avid bowler on 2 leagues and a women's bridge club member. Peggy leaves her beloved children - David & his wife Julie (Harrison) Jones, her daughter Monica Jones-Nail, and her son Stephen Jones; grandchildren - Melissa (Ben) Dennison-Nail, Edwin Nail IIl, Malorie Nail, Jacob Jones; and great-grandson Logan Dennison, who she fell in love with at first sight. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Charles Jones, her sisters Kay (Evans), and Pat (Gasperini), and her brother Bill Driscoll, Jr. A celebration of life service will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Bay Village on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 11:00 am. with a reception to follow.
