Margaret Lee Bates

Margaret Lee Bates, 74, of Lancaster, Ohio went to heaven on February 28, 2022. Margaret was born on Novemebr 13, 1947 in Tennessee and was the daughter of Johnnie and Norma Myers. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Armon Eugene Bates; parents, Johnnie and Norma Myers; and sister, Donna. Margaret was a devoted mother who enjoyed seeing her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as much as possible. She enjoyed playing bingo on her computer and occasionally winning on a scratch off ticket. It brought immense joy to her life to spend as much time with her family at cookouts, birthdays, and holidays. She also loved watching her favorite show The Walking Dead and always telling you what was going to happen next. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed by all. Margaret is survived by her children; Jenny Perrault, Misty Bates, Jason (Rebecca) Bates, Sally (Nathan) Cotton and Johnny (Jessica Cline) Bates; 12 grandchildren, Joe (Pabi) Perrault, Kiera Grove, Daniel Perrault, Austin Bates, Bridget Bates, Jessica Cotton, Timothy Cotton, Trinity Bates, Aaliyah Bates, Christopher Cotton, Mackenzie Hall & Johnny Bates Jr.; five great grandchildren, Braxton, Landon, and Taylor Bates, Jackson Persinger, and a granddaughter due in June; brothers, Joe and J.C. Myers; sisters, Ruth Curtis and Pennie Mayes, and many, many more. A celebration of Life will be at 5:00 p.m. on April 9th at the VFW on Sugar Grove Rd. in Lancaster, Ohio. She will be cremated and laid to rest with our father Gene Bates, in Amanda, Ohio.
