Marcia Lynn Dawson (Marci), 76, Pickerington, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 9th, 2023.

Marcia was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Don G. and Frieda Newland. She grew up in Columbus and attended Mifflin High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don G. (Wanda) Newland Jr., whom she absolutely adored.

Marci is survived by her sons Michael (Melody) Sexten, Troy (Amber) Urbano and Robert Dawson, grandchildren, Michael R. Sexten, Alexis Urbano, Jake Urbano, Zach Sexten, Lake Dawson, Chase Dawson, Madelyn Dawson, and Lane Dawson, great-grandchildren Micha, Rose, Colt and Kash Sexten, her loving sister Glenna Lockhart, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved tremendously.

Marci loved her family and was generous, almost to a fault, helping family, friends and strangers alike. She loved her boys ferociously and spoiled her grandchildren. She enjoyed her true crime documentaries or home and garden shows with a Hershey’s Bar with Almonds…or two.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Abbington of Pickerington, especially Stoey Stout and Tandra Robinson, who took such good care of Marci the past twelve months, as well as the caring staff of Hospice ofCentral Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center who lovingly guided her transition.

Per her request, there will be no public memorial service. The family will host a private celebration of Marci’s life at a later date. In her memory, please perform a random act of kindness or take some time to tidy up your place, she’d like that as well!
