Lona Mae Stanley

December 4, 1938 — January 16, 2023

Lona Mae (Witt) (Denman) Stanley, affectionately known as Mom, Mama Lona, Grandma, GGMA, and Aunt Lona was called Home by the Lord on January 16, 2023. Lona was born December 4, 1938 to Oscar and Ruby Witt in Westerville, Ohio.


She was a graduate of Westerville High School. Lona retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. After retirement, Lona and her husband Jim were blessed with and enjoyed nearly 20 years of "snow birding" to their home away from horne, Bay Aristocrat Village (at which she was proudly the only active female member of the men's club) in Clearwater, Florida where they made many wonderful friends. Lona was an active member of vineyard Community Church, where she sent cards out to members. Mom was the true center of our family, especially loving to plan the Family 4th of July celebration and reunion.


Lona is preceded in death by husband James Stanley, brothers Bill and Dave Witt, brother in-law Harold Stanley, beloved son, Robert Denman, and ex-husband Ronald Denman.


She is survived by her children Sharon (Albert) Vaught, John (Heidi) Denman, Jerry (Joan) Denman, Sheri Stanley, Steven (Becky) Stanley; grandchildren Joe (Aimee) Vaught, Jessica (Eric) Alderman, Jamie (Michael) Neu, Denise Decker (Tim), Benjamin (Stacee) Denman, Matthew Denman, Jenny Morgan, Andy (Alisha) Lawrence, Jenn (Alan) Bruns, Aaron Denman, Jaden Denman, Krista (Jamie) Steele, Ashlie (Nick) Leyland, Megan (James) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Mayleigh, Tyler, Natalie, Lucy, Christian, Kolton, Kailee, Jaxon, Ruby, Makayla, Kason, Thielen, Laila, Luxon, Ellie, Phoenix, and Jack. Many nieces. nephews and friends. Special friends Oleta 'Toole, Robin Bowers, Mary Ellen Stanley.



Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Vineyard Community Church,15187 Palmer Rd. SW, Reynoldsburg Ohio, 43068. Pastor Chip officiating.
