April 13, 1948 — October 8, 2021

Linda Gail (Walsleben) Garten, age 73, passed away peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, at the home of her daughter. She was born April 13, 1948 in Clifton, Texas to Albert and Pauline Walsleben. She spent her childhood growing up in Valley Mills, Texas and graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1966. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Pauline (Gloff) Walsleben and sibling Harold Walsleben. She is survived by her son Joseph (Nena) Garten, her daughter Amanda (Jeremy) Board, her grandchildren Damien, Kailynn, Daide, and Jaidan and her brother David (Betty) Walsleben and her sister Alleen (Walsleben) Tibbs, and her special friend, Dub Morgan and numerous other family and friends. Besides family Linda loved the Dallas Cowboys, which she would cheer them on every time they played. She also loved decorating for each and every holiday, including dressing up for Halloween and going crazy for Christmas. She loves arts, crafts, and DIY activities. She was actively involved in all of her children’s activities, which include soccer, baseball, football, dance class, piano recitals, and most of all marching band. She was the head chaperone of the marching band when her kids where in high school. She even loved it so much that when returning to Texas when her kids graduated from high school she even became part of the band board of the Valley Mills High School band, even though she didn’t have any children at that school at that time.
