Linda Ann Scales

Linda Ann Reed Scales, 75, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at Riverside

Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Born in Columbus, OH, on March 17, 1947, Linda is preceded in death by her beloved

husband James ‘Bill’ Scales, her parents Elbert Dunaville and Jessie Scott Dunaville

Saunders Banks, and her brother, Larry Scott Dunaville.

A strong woman with an indomitable spirit, Linda lived a life centered around family.

She was a loving wife and mother, who dedicated much of her life to the care and wellbeing

of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an entrepreneurial spirit,

owning and operating the J & L Carryout and working as an independent H&R Block

tax preparer. A woman of faith with a quick and curious mind, Linda attended Columbus

State Community College and had started her autobiography.

Survived by her children Roger Reed Jr, Aretha Reed, and Odessa (Melvin) Gaston. Her

grandchildren: Ron Scales, Keyona Walls, Veronica Reed, Rakim Scales, Devon Watson,

Diamond Yoakam, and Danielle (Benjerman) Reed-Airhart and 22 great-grandchildren;

Siblings Keith, Wesley, and Terri, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
