Lamont (Monty) Dorman

Lamont Valentina Dorman was born on January 4th, 1960 in Joppa Maryland to the late James R. Dorman Sr. and Effie V. Dorman. On March 30, 2020, Lamont (affectionally known as “Monty”) was called home to Heaven. Lamont completed his education in Harford County were he attended Edgewood High School. He later joined the Armed Forces where he received an honorable discharge. As a young boy, he loved playing with his toy trucks; especially his Hess trucks that his older sister Frances would bring to him from the restaurant where she worked. This inspired young Monty to later become a Tractor Trailer driver and drive his truck throughout the Continental United States. On May 26, 2011, Lamont married Donna Dingess in Columbus, Ohio where they lived together for nine years. Their life was very busy; raising their two grand daughters - Payton and Emma Dingess. These girls loved and admired their “Pop-Pop” who affectionally cared for them as only “Pop Pop” could do. Monty is survived by his wife, Donna Dorman and grand daughters Payton and Emma Dingess, step children Josh, Deborah, and Melissa Dingess and grand daughter Haylee Dingess. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Dorman, Frances Earl, Janet Johnson and his brothers Wayne Dorman and James Dorman Jr. He leaves to mourn Charlotte Dorman (Maryland), Deborah and Roger Jackson (Virginia), Augustus and Shelley Dorman (North Carolina), Darlene Dorman (Maryland), Timothy Johnson (Maryland), Clarisse Dorman (Maryland), and Linda Simmons (California), and one aunt Elsie Robinson He also leaves cherish memories with his two favorite road partners, Monkoya Dorman and Rajah Jackson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, including one dedicated cousin Geraldine (Jitterbug). Monty was a big hearted and fun loving individual who always gave a straight answer to any question and never took life too seriously. He just loaded up his big rig and made a run. On March 30th, he pulled over for his final trip and parked his truck in “Heaven’s Golden Lot” To share a memory of Monty or to offer a message of condolence to the family, please visit his tribute wall.
