Kimberley D. Worthington, age 57 of Columbus, passed away on November 25,2023. She passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside. Kim was born on January 1, 1966, and was the first baby born in the New Year in the city of Hamilton, NY. Kim is survived by her parents Ron and Pat Girod, siblings Karen (Andrew) Wheeler, Shannon (Mark) Schroeder and Chad (Krista) Girod. Kim is also survived by her son Joel Williams, ex-husband Jimmy Williams, as well as her grandchildren; Elisyana Hamilton, Layna Williams and great granddaughter, Melise Kalena. Kim had many nephews and nieces, amazing family and friends as well as acquaintances who loved and cared for her very much. A special thank you to Mia at Heartland Hospice as well as all the staff who helped Kim and her family transition peacefully. Kim was preceded in death by her daughter Brandee Williams and son Joshua Halvey. Kim’s children were her whole life and worked tirelessly to make sure they were loved and taken care of. Kim was a Juvenile Probation Officer for the Franklin County Clerk of Courts in Ohio and was a certified provider of Orthotics and Prosthetics in Naples, Florida.
Bob Marley said, “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.” Kim was a fighter until the very end and is no longer in pain. Kim always looked at life as, “It is what it is!” A special thank you to Kim’s friend, Christina Atwell, who was there for Kim during the good and bad times.
Donations can be made in Kim’s memory to Heartland Hospice (gentivahs.com). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
