Keith L. Allison

November 11, 1958 — July 26, 2024

Keith L. Allison, 65, of Bellefontaine, sadly left us on July 26, 2024, after a long seven-and-a-half-year battle against cancer.

He was born on November 11, 1958, in Bellefontaine, the eldest son of Roger L. and Barbara Ellen (Knief) Allison.

Keith graduated from Jackson Center High School in 1977. After graduating, he started at DAB for nearly 30 years until the company closed. He then joined HTM, where he was grateful for the support of Tom Definbaugh, who played a significant role in this transition. Throughout his career, Keith was known for his hard work, honesty, and exceptional loyalty. He was known as “Macgyver” by his fellow co-workers. He truly enjoyed his job and appreciated the camaraderie with his colleagues. He would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude to Jeff Harpst, Tom Definbaugh, Mike McCurley, Luke Braun, and Rick Feasel for their unwavering support and encouragement during his challenging battle with numerous surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and emotional setbacks in his fight against cancer. Keith retired from HTM in January 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Allison, who was taken from him far too soon, but now can make up for lost time.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jennifer (Allen) Allison, are his two sons: Zachary Keith (Josie) Allison and Derek Thomas Allison. Keith has two brothers: Kevin (Kathy) Allison, and Kent (Michele) Allison; and many nieces and nephews.

His heart raced for his beloved 1971 Corvette Stingray – his first true love. Working on that magnificent machine was not just a hobby; it was a canvas for teaching moments with the boys, turning grease-stained hands into memories that would last a lifetime. Each task was an opportunity to bond, share laughter, and impart wisdom, creating a legacy of love within the family that will echo through the years.

Keith's spirit soared when he was surrounded by our fun-loving, camping friends, better known as "The Moonshiners." Their wild adventures together filled his heart with joy, and yes, sometimes they may have pushed the boundaries a little too far, but that's just the essence of living fully! Coaching and cheering on the boys at every sporting event and after-school activity brought him immense pride and fulfillment.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Brandon Gillen, our nephew, for his help during a challenging time, and his unwavering companionship, love, and support during that challenging time meant the world to Keith, who cherished every moment with him.

A celebration of life is scheduled to take place on July 30th at 5:00 PM at C & A Engraving & Gifts Event Center, located at 5531 County Road 91, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Keith was not one for formal attire, so please dress casually.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Keith’s name to the Logan County Cancer Society and Universal Hospice Care. They did an amazing job in supporting and caring for Keith.
