Joyce Margurite Noe

Joyce Margurite Noe, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 11, 2024, at Kobacher House. Joyce was born on March 18, 1947, in Syracuse, New York.

Joyce spent her life in her hometown of Marion, Ohio. Joyce attended Oakland Elementary, Edison Middle School and then graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1965. Joyce worked as a secretary at Marion Power Shovel and Whirlpool before going to school to get her LPN and then her RN at Marion Technical College. During her career as a nurse, Joyce worked at Marion General Hospital, Grant Hospital, various nursing homes, Camp Help and various Girl Scout camps. She ended her career at the Department of Youth Services Facility in Marion.

In her younger years, Joyce was involved in Marion Community Theater and starred in One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest as Nurse Ratched! (If you know this character then you know she is the opposite of Joyce!) She was involved in several of the Marion Follies, Cabaret and Jesus Christ Superstar among others.

During retirement Joyce could be found playing Bingo or spending time with family. She loved going swimming, riding roller coasters and traveling. She volunteered at the Popcorn Festival several times and was always going somewhere!

Joyce’s children and grandchildren were her everything! She was lovingly known as Mamal by her grandchildren and other kids in her life. She attended birthdays, sports events, school events, baked cookies, and chaperoned events until her health no longer allowed her to. She loved to take the kids to watch Life Flight land and take off. This trip always ended w/ a prayer for the individual on the helicopter.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Gina(James) Fleming; grandchildren: Domanina, Jacob, Joshua, Eden, Alexis, Bethany and Aubriana; siblings: Paul(Karyn)Noe, Sharon(Terry)Welsh and Steven(Lorna)Noe; nieces and nephews: Lori(Mick), Jessica(Brandon), Elaina(Josh), Ashley(Derek) and Charles; great nephews and nieces: Ethan(Amber), Seth, Max, Cayden, Luke, Kinsley and Gunnar ; her first great- great niece, Lillian and her “special” daughters, Amber Ford and JoAnn Arnd. Joyce is preceded in death by her son Ryan Matthew Noe, brother Donald Noe and parents Richard and Maxine Noe.

A celebration of life will be held in the community room of Seton Square (enter in the back), 255 Richland Rd. Marion, Oh on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
