Life began for Joseph A. Lang on May 1, 1987 in Syracuse New York. He was the third son for David E. Lang and Tina Otto.
After Tully High School, he attended college for electronics. In 2012, he moved to Ashland, Ohio where he was employed at a variety of jobs but his favorite ones were those where he could pursue his strong interest in welding. He was a reliable, hard worker always looking to learn more about his profession. In his spare time he enjoyed gaming. Other hobbies included putting together models and jigsaw puzzles, especially those of light houses, boats and ocean scenes.
His legacy will be of always being willing to help others whether it was home renovation or car repairs. Joe was very adept in construction, electrical or plumbing projects. What he did not know how to do, he figured out for himself. He regretted not being able to be in the military. His wish was to join the Navy and do underwater welding, combining that skill with his “love of the sea”. Another dream he was not able to have, was to live in Australia and go SCUBA diving.
Joe found comfort in the Church of the Latter Day Saints and was baptized. He also appreciated the support and assistance of those church members during his long illness. The life of Joe ended peacefully in Sullivan, Ohio on December 8, 2024 after a long fight with cancer at only 37 years of age. Already he is missed by his daughter Zoey, whom he considered the best thing ever in his life and his devoted friend, Deb Church helped him through his last, most difficult year. Surviving are his father, David E. Lang of New York, his mother, Tina Otto and brothers, Thomas Lang and Justin Diaz of Ashland, Ohio. Other family members are his grandfather, David F. Lang, aunt Bonnie, uncle Charles Lang and his aunt Tami. He has an aunt Theresa in California, an aunt Tamar of Kentucky, an uncle Michael and an uncle Timothy of Texas. His nieces and nephews are; Jeron, Parker and Anelia Lang, Brooklyn, Emily and Graclyn Diaz. Among his special friends are Carla Jackson and Judy Kocab. Josh Roseberry was a close friend who gave invaluable assistance to Joe and Deb during the final months.
Joe found comfort in the Church of the Latter Day Saints and was baptized. He also appreciated the support and assistance of those church members during his long illness. His request was for no formal service at the time of his death but a Celebration of the Life of Joe Lang will take place on a yet to be determined date. Condolences, memories to share about Joe and/or donations for the future of Zoey can be sent to Deb at 481 U. S. Highway 224 Sullivan, Ohio 44880.
