John Lewis Wedge

November 8, 1933 — April 6, 2022

John Lewis Wedge earned his wings on April 6, 2022 and he was born November 8, 1933 in Carey, Ohio. John was a Corporal in the United States Army and served in the Korean, War. Preceded in death by his father Roscoe Wedge and his mother Margaret Casper. Survived by daughters Margie Willis, Patty Wedge-Ludwig (Michael) and his sons Steve Wedge (Scott) and John Wedge III. Also survived by his sister Syble Kunkle and brother Tom Wedge and his grandchildren Staci Wojdyla (Walter), Neal Merchant (Jamie), Shanna Crawford (Tyler) Shelby Willis (Derek), Jennifer Chapman (Phil) and Stephanie Ames (Brian). He has 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He loved training thoroughbred horses and raced his horses at Beulah Park and other race tracks around Ohio for many years. He enjoyed spending time in Grove City in the summer attending the Grove City Alumni Softball tournament where many of the alumni students and friends know and love him. In recent years he has traveled to Bonita Springs, Florida where he loves the weather in the winter. Also, He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. John loved life and he loved his children very much. A celebration of life will be held at Planks on Broadway, 4022 Broadway, Grove City Ohio on Thursday April 14, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Also, since he was a veteran we will hold a military honor service for him on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey, Ohio.
