John Alan DeVore

John Alan DeVore, age 73, passed away on November 8, 2024, with family by his side. Known for his stubborn spirit and a loving heart, John will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

Born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 6, 1951, son of the late Clyde Kenneth DeVore and Beulah Mae (Ray) DeVore. John was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School and worked at Groveport Madison Schools until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vickie Lee (Weatherman)DeVore, and his son, Jonathan Dale DeVore.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Kelly) DeVore, daughter-in-law, Sarah Louise. A proud grandfather to Kaleb (Madison) DeVore, Samantha DeVore, and Madilyn DeVore, John adored each of his grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (David) Chambers and Linda (Paul) Miller, as well as his nieces and nephews, Dwight Chambers, Dawn Stock, Scott Miller, and Kristin Miller.

John will be remembered for his strength, steadfast personality and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John will be laid to rest in the family plot at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio, near his hometown of Weirton, West Virginia.
