John Charles Milks, 76, died at 2:20 PM October 11, 2021, at Oakwood Senior Living, Columbus, OH. He was born September 1, 1945, in Springville, NY to Lynn L. and Gertrude H. Simmons Milks, who preceded him in death. He was formerly married to Paula Scholtz. John graduated from Marion L. Steele High School (Amherst, OH) in 1963 and earned his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute in 1968. A long-time employee of Modern Tool and Die, Valley City, OH, he retired as V.P. of Facilities Engineering. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at the Cross in the Woods, Indian River, MI and helped at the local food pantry. He loved golfing and a good cribbage game. Survivors include his children, Jacquelyn A. Milks Simboli and James R. Milks, a sister, Linda (Merle) Taylor, Amherst, OH; 3 brothers, James P. (Christine) Milks, Norwalk, OH, Jeffrey W. (Deborah) Milks, New Albany, OH, and Michael M. (Beth) Milks, Ada, OH and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Bradford Milks and a brother, Richard R. Milks. It was John’s request to be cremated, there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the National Shrine of Cross in the Woods, 7078 M-68 Indian River, Michigan 49749. A special thank-you to Jeff and Deb Milks for John’s care over the past two years.
