Joanie Cathleen Haskell

August 8, 1973 — December 14, 2022

Joanie Cathleen Haskell, 49, of Blacklick, Ohio, passed from our world unexpectedly, December 14 at her home. Joanie was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Beech Grove Indiana. She was a proud graduate of Greenwood Community High School and Ball State University.

Joanie was born to Anna (Friedman) and James Haskell Sr. on August 8, 1973. She is preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Joseph. She is survived by one brother, James Haskell Jr (Rob Keller) both of Indianapolis Indiana, a sisterly cousin, Carrie Browning of Indianapolis, and one aunt, Delores Williams of Indianapolis, several additional cousins, and many “chosen” family.

Joanie was a free spirit. She loved to laugh and enjoy the company of friends and family. She loved the outdoors, and relished the times spent with family on the houseboat. She also relished a good hand of euchre, IU basketball and Colts football. She most enjoyed announcing for any color guard event. She was very involved with anything color guard for well over twenty years (The Voice of the IHSCGA State Final Events). Her announcing voice was like no other. She put her total heart and soul into every announcement with her goal “to make them sound like a million bucks!”. She loved the kids in these events, and they loved her in return. She will be missed by those that knew and loved her.

Per Joanie’s wishes, she will be cremated with a Celebration of Life service to be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest beside her Mother at the Greenwood Cemetery at that time.
