Jeffery L Cole

Jeffery L Cole, a loving father and Papa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 67 on the morning of July 1, 2024 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Jeff was born in Port Clinton, OH on January 9, 1957 to Max and Esther Cole. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and kindness. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family. Jeff Cole is survived by his five children, Casey Chapman (Ben), Renee (Dave) Harsche, Joshua Cole (Angie), Tyler Cole, and Christy Lynn, eight grandchildren, and his brothers Doug Ferguson (Cindy) and Dick Cole. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and big brother Rickie.

He showed unconditional love to his family and always made sure to say I Love You more than twice, hug you when you walk through the door, and give you a goodbye kiss on your forehead. He was adored by his grandchildren both human and canine, who knew that a visit from Papa meant donuts and treats. He loved all children and will forever be remembered for his jokes and sense of humor, his role as the Polar Express conductor at Christmas, his love of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his willingness to give the shirt off of his back for anyone who needed anything.

His family would like to thank our friends and family that showed their love and support over the last month, and also to the nursing staff at Mount Carmel East, especially Dr. John Feibel, Allison, CJ, and Mona, who helped him and us through the last final days on his journey to be with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 13 from 1 to 2pm, at Pioneer Presbyterian in Belpre, Ohio. In lieu of flowers or contributions to the family, donations can be to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital - Jeff was very passionate about their work given his love of children.
