Jazmyn A. Hammett, age 73 of New Lebanon, Ohio, died at Miami Valley Hospital on March 27, 2022, after a brief illness. She was surrounded and comforted by her three children as she passed peacefully onto her next adventure. Jazmyn was born at Miami Valley Hospital as Pamela Jean Pohl on October 6, 1948 to her parents, Billy Lee Pohl and Myra (Saylor) Pohl. Tragically, Billy Lee was killed in a motorcycle accident just two weeks after her birth. Pamela was adopted by her step-father, Donald Guisleman, when she was 3 years old and became Pamela Jean Guisleman. Donald and Myra added a son, Michael Guisleman, in September of 1952. Pamela graduated from Clearcreek High School in 1966 and married Charles Gorsuch later that summer. Charles and Pamela had three children together, Krista Leigh, Carla Renee and Travis Michael, but divorced in 1981. Pamela worked for many years in the secretarial and office administration field until, nearing the age of 50, she decided to reinvent herself. Pamela Jean changed her name to Jazmyn Andrietta, which she thought better suited her wild, eccentric, free spirit. She put herself through truck driving school and for the next 10 years, until her retirement, conquered the open road exploring the country driving her big rig. She spent her retirement years devoted to her passion of crocheting, knitting and sewing. Jazmyn was colorful and creative at heart. She loved to make crazy sock monkey hats for everyone she loved. She opened an online Etsy shop she called "Not Your Average Grandma" so she could share her creations with the world. Jazmyn was preceded in death by her biological father, her mother, step-father and brother. She is survived by her children, Krista Gorsuch, Carla (Gorsuch) King and Travis Gorsuch, along with Carla's husband, Bobby King, and Travis' wife, Kristy (Chasteen) Gorsuch. Jazmyn was the proud grandma to Krista's daughter: Mia; Carla and Bobby's children: Tanner, Travis, Tatum, Teagan and Tess; and Travis and Kristy's son: Braeden. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. To honor Jazmyn's wishes, there will be no public service.
