Helen Louise Lott

September 9, 1956 — June 18, 2023

Helen Louise Lott, 66, of Chillicothe, passed from this life at 8:05 p.m., Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at Westmoreland Place, after a two year battle with multiple myeloma. She was born on September 9th, 1956, in Chillicothe, to the late Lilly (Campbell) and Wilbert Smith. Her uncle, Arthur Campbell, played a key role in her life and she looked to him as a fatherly figure.

Surviving is a daughter, Holly (Jesse) Preston, of Chillicothe; two grandsons, whom she adored, Ryan Hill and Jonah Preston; ex-husband and dear friend, Charles Lott, a brother, Forrest Smith, of Westerville; special cousins, Daisy Tackett and Harry “Butch” Seymour; dear friends, Vicki Spencer, Bridget Cockrell and Karen Fitzpatrick, and her beloved cat, Ida Mae.

Helen was a 1974 graduate of Southeastern High school and was employed at Berlyn’s auto sales. She also volunteered as an EMT for Franklin township in the early 90s. She was an avid reader and frequently bragged about owning over 1,500 books on her kindle fire. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandsons and loved them fiercely. Easter was a very special holiday for her every year, celebrating her savior, Jesus Christ, and went out of her way to ensure Ryan and Jonah’s baskets were overflowing with candy and gifts every year.

The family would like to thank everyone that has reached out and supported them throughout Helen’s final days on earth. Your kindness and love has comforted us during these tremendously difficult times. We also want to thank National Church Residences and Westmoreland place for their support and providing excellent care
