She graduated from Marshalltown High school in 1959. It was after this that she met the love of her life Dave Hines. They were married on April 21, 1963. Together they raised four children while traveling the United States and Europe together. Along with her love of family Gloria was passionate about animals, entertaining and shopping. Her home was always filled with friends, family and Greyhounds. Her love for animals spilled into the equestrian world too. If she wasn’t home, shopping at Kohl’s or traveling to rescue Greyhounds she could be found at the farm caring for and riding her trusted horse Fooler. Besides raising a family Gloria wore many hats throughout her life. She worked for the phone company she was the communities’ Welcome Wagon representative and dabbled in real estate. She even had her own embroidery business called, Designs by Gloria. Gloria was greatly loved. She had too many friends to count and will be remembered always by her determination, strong will and her infectious “cackle”. We love you mom! A celebration of her life will be held in September 2022. (exact date to be announced at a later date) The family requests that contributions be made to your local animal rescue organization in her name.
