Glennis Dailey

January 1, 1947 — March 17, 2025

Glennis Dunlap "Kitten" Dailey (née Faler), 78, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

Born to parents Melvin Faler Sr. and Marjorie Schuyler Faler on January 1, 1947, as Denver, Colorado’s second baby of the year, Glennis lived a life full of adventure, creativity, and deep connections. She had an independent spirit and a feisty nature that endeared her to all who knew her. Over the years, she called 47 of the 50 United States home, collecting stories and experiences that she loved to share with those around her. She was very proud of her career with the Jackson County Courthouse working as a Clerk of Court, as well as her extensive work with multiple law firms in the area.

Glennis was an artist at heart. She found joy in painting and sculpting beautiful pieces of art and was known for gifting intricate, handcrafted jewelry, clothing, and home décor to friends and family. She cultivated flourishing gardens and had a special connection with nature. Whether hiking through scenic landscapes or tending to her plants, she found peace in the natural world.

A lifelong animal lover, Glennis grew up riding horses and playing with dogs but had a particular fondness for cats, befriending any feline that crossed her path. She also had a great love for laughter, family gatherings, driving convertibles and motorcycles, Stephen King novels, and indulging in anything made with chocolate or peanut butter.

Glennis is survived by her older brother Melvin Faler Jr.; her four children: Dawn Scott (Jimmy), Charles Rector (Wendy), Matthew Barnett, and Derrick Dailey (Hanna); seven grandchildren: Haley Tarvin (Hunter) and Brookelyn Scott; Madalyn Rector, Chase Rector (Amber), and Chance Rector; Ava Barnett and Arden Barnett; as well as three great-grandchildren: Isla Tarvin, Henry Rector, and Dawson Chaffin. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.

She was preceded in death by four beloved siblings: Gerald Faler, whom she affectionately called her "favorite baby brother;" stepbrother David Faler; stepsister Cleo McCombs Taylor; and Baby Peggy Ann.

Glennis’s legacy is one of love, creativity, resilience, and adventure. Her memory will live on through the stories she shared, the art she created, and the family she adored. May those who knew her find comfort in the joy she brought into their lives.

Details for a Celebration of Life ceremony will be released at a later date.
