Glenn Kenneth Hollopeter

December 3, 1929 — March 1, 2021

Glenn Kenneth Hollopeter, 91, of Medina, passed away on March 1, 2021. He was born on December 3, 1929, in Sharon Twp., Medina County, and was the youngest son of Raymond and Velma (Spicher) Hollopeter. He was married to Kathryn Miller on October 5, 1957, and she survives. He is also survived by four children: Charlotte Sigmon, Randal (Donna) Hollopeter, Frederic (Karen) Hollopeter, and Lauren (Frank) Michal; nine grandchildren: Austin, Hudson, Preston, Nina, Natalie, Heidi, Tyler (Mikaila) and Macie Hollopeter, and Kathryn Michal (Thomas Marcus); and one sister Wilma (David) Shank. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Sheldon (Shirley) and Carl (Marcia) Hollopeter; and one sister Phoebe (Mervin) Yoder. Early in his youth, Glenn committed his life to Christ and the church. He and Kathryn enjoyed 63 years as partners in family life. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. All of his life, Glenn was involved in church work and was active in the Gideons International for over 60 years. Glenn worked for many years in the family business, Medina Tractor Sales, before branching out on his own with Hometown Water Conditioning. Even at 90 years old, he did not let the COVID-19 pandemic prevent him from servicing customers. He attended Sharon School where he played basketball, and the violin. Later, he studied economics for three years at Goshen College before returning to Medina to help with the family business. He gave two years as a volunteer building homes for migrants in Texas. An outdoor memorial is being planned for later this spring. In lieu of flowers, Glenn’s wish was to have donations made to the Gideons International at www.gideons.org/donate.
