Gerald Megnin

July 21, 1959 — August 20, 2022

Gerald “Gerry” Megnin, known by some as “Sam”, age 63, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio went to Heaven on August 20, 2022. The world was a brighter place with him here. He was smart, funny, an honest man, and a good provider.

Born July 21, 1959 in Worcester, Mass and was the son of James P. and Patricia D. (Darbie).

He was preceded in death by his father, James and mother, Patricia (Gulachenski); brother, Tommy; and his beloved daughter, Kimberly.

He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Laura (Catterall) Mason; daughters, Melissa, and Melonie Barrowman (Martin); step-daughter, Amanda Herd; grandchildren, Mayleanna (Crim), Alfee (Crim) Junior, Jordan, Jace and Korina; and his great-granddaughter, Amiyree.

Gerry is also survived by his loving brother, Charles (Linda), Patricia, and James (Liz); and niece, Ria.

For many years he was involved in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed camping (even in the snow!), rock climbing, and bicycling. He did theatre lighting for many shows while in high school. He studied Psychology and Theatre Lighting in college. He was quite the character - so much he got the lead part in one of the plays.

Proudly serving in the Unites States Army, he was stationed in Germany, and he was the Colonels’ private driver.

For over 40 years he was an electrician, traveling the country and wiring America. Name any big city and “he worked in that town”.

Golden Retrievers had always been a part of his adult life. He enjoyed classic rock, nature, our pond and garden.

He is at peace with family, friends, his dogs, favorite comedians and musicians.

Have a wonderful afterlife. You will always be loved, in our hearts and not forgotten!
