Gary Roger Colvin

Gary Roger Colvin passed away peacefully the evening of February 7, 2021, his loving puppy Chewie by his side. Born September 13, 1947 in Chillicothe Ohio to Ora Kendrick and Thelma Ray Irene (Baldwin) Colvin, he spent much of his youth on his family’s farm in Kentucky. As an adult, he worked at Robbins and Meyers, Inc., first in Springfield and then Gallipolis, Ohio. Years later Roger returned to Springfield to lovingly care for his mother while also employed by the State of Ohio. Throughout his life Gary enjoyed all aspects of working on cars, gardening, house remodeling, wood working and interior decorating. Roger was proceeded in death by his father, Ora, his mother, Thelma, his wife Dorothea (Smith), his brother Fredrick and best friend Gary Barry. He leaves behind his brother Gerald and sister Judy Curtis; former wife of 25 years Katheryne Davis and the family they shared, Mindy (Timothy) Weaver, Sara Morris, Amy Pearce and Bethany (Kody) Lockard; grandchildren Indigo, Nadaway, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jasmine, Jessica, Carter, Emma, Adrian, Darian, AJ, Kaitlyn, Mya and Arya; and great-grandchildren Conan and Maizie. Respectful of Roger’s wishes, there will be no funeral services and his ashes be scattered among his ancestors at the Colvin family cemetery in Kentucky later this year.
