Frank T. Berry Jr. of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away on April 28, 2023 at Wesley Ridge Assisted Living. After four months of Hospice Care, Frank died peacefully in his sleep. He was 92.
Frank was born on February 27, 1931 in Reading, MA and went on to study at the New York University Stern School of Business, graduating with a BS and an MBA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. On June 22, 1956, Frank married his lovely wife Eleanor in Newark Valley, New York. They were married for 67 years.
Frank had a distinguished career as a financial manager in long-range planning with a variety of firms on the East Coast and in New England, including Shell Oil, McGraw Hill, American Can, and ITT. Later in life, Frank worked at the University of North Carolina, Asheville and Job Corps.
Frank was a devoted Christian and enjoyed spending time with his family and attending church gatherings, concerts, and festivals. He served as a Gideon for many years and was known for his love of the Lord and his great sense of humor. He never missed a meal, especially a buffet.
Frank was a church organist for 50 years and a trombonist for over 65 years. His greatest accomplishments were writing and producing a Christmas cantata, playing the organ at an Irish cathedral, and playing his trombone in a quintet at the Chicago Opera House. Frank loved to travel and has visited most U.S. states. He has been to 7 World Fairs and taken numerous trips to Europe as well as mission trips. Frank also enjoyed photography and woodworking.
Frank is survived by his wife, Eleanor Berry; daughter, Melanie Tracy; son, Jon Berry; granddaughter, Madison Tracy; and granddaughter, Sierra Berry. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Berry Sr.; his mother, Marietta Berry; and his sister, Jean Livingood. A memorial service for Frank will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 2-3 p.m. at Kimes Chapel located at Park Place, 2225 Taylor Park Drive, Reynoldsburg, OH, 43068. The service will be recorded for those unable to attend. Family and friends are invited to express their condolences by donating to Gideons International or to the Pickerington, Ohio Food Pantry in his honor.
