Frances Donna Mcgee

Frances Donna McGee, 96, passed on November 21, 2022. She was born to Garland and Nellie Wooden in Akron, OH on August 9, 1926.

She married Michael McGee in 1963 and together they raised three children, Cathy Wooden, Bobbi (Chris) Russell and Michelle (Tod) McGee-Moore. She is survived by seven grandchildren. Daniel (Nikki) Carsey, David (Courtney) Carsey, Brandon Carsey, Brittany Carsey, Keegan (Auldyn) Mathews-McGee, James McGee-Moore, Sami Russell and nine great grandchildren, Carissa, Caitlyn, Mackenzie, Ezekiel, Zoey, Aubrey, Bentley, Kaya and Elijah. Donna is also survived by two sisters, Rosie Blake of North Carolina and Linda Dietz of Hilliard, OH.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, a daughter, Anita L. Temple, an infant son, Shawn McGee and two brothers, Howard and Robert Wooden.

Donna retired from DCSC in Columbus, Oh and moved to Albany, Oh. Throughout her long life, she was an avid gardener and loved all plants and flowers. She delighted in all things green and her green thumb did not stop in the garden, her porch and home were surrounded with hanging baskets and planters full of flowers. If you weren’t able to find her on the porch reading a romance novel or in one of the gardens, she could be found in the woods on one of her several daily walks. She was always looking for anything new or unique to bring back to her yard or porch. When she wasn’t enjoying her flowers gardens, she was usually painting a picture of flowers she had planted in her garden, she loved to paint. No matter what she was doing, she would always have handfuls of Hershey Kisses next to her or in her pocket for herself and anyone else.
